All of the competing techniques and processes (laser, dermabrasion, acid peels, etc.) are significantly more invasive than ours. \u201cSanding\u201d the skin, by any means, automatically produces a burning sensation that must be soothed with a salve. In this specific regard, our product offers a very clear advantage. Because it is much less invasive, it does not cause any burning sensations. Imagine a patient who has just undergone open-heart surgery, with all of the pain and discomfort that involves. No, absolutely not. The cost of a ScarFix I.T.S. kit is approximately $100. Normally one kit is sufficient for the vast majority of our customers.<\/p>

To compare: One year of treatment will take roughly three ScarFix I.T.S. kits for a total cost of around $300. Laser treatment is effective and takes about the same amount of time as Scarfix I.T.S. and\/or ScarRedux I.T.S. However, the process is much more costly and painful. The average cost for one year of laser treatments is over $1,000 ($100 to $150 per session).<\/p>

Microdermabrasion will smooth the surface of the scar, but cannot make it go away. This treatment requires several sessions and can be costly, over $1,000 ($100 to $150 per session).<\/p>

It is also possible to treat scars by injecting them with steroids. However, this is a long and very painful process.
AHA, glycolic acid, and vitamin A are more or less aggressive exfoliation techniques. They can yield good results when overseen by a medical professional.
